My name is Pete Long (Born 15/07/70) I live in Middlesbrough in the North East of England. I’ve worked in IT full time since leaving the forces (Royal Engineers) and retraining here

I’ve held first, second, and third line support roles. I’ve also been employed as both an IT project manager and Technical Consultant, and Technical Architect.

I’m currently employed at Pulsant as a Technical Architect. Providing technical pre-sales, and solution design.

In my past (as a consultant) my main main area of expertise was Cisco Security Systems (ASA, FirePOWER,) Though I have deployed and worked with other vendors (Junos, SONICWALL, Smoothwall, Symantec SGS).

Bench building multiple vendor (Junos SRX, and Cisco ASA 5585-X) failover firewall and DMZ Solution

In addition I have extensive knowledge of the VMware product set (vSphere, Horizon, vCloud). And many years in Microsoft client/server deployments.

I also have done a lot or work with Microsoft Exchange, and in addition to the posts here at PNL, You will find me active in a lot of Cisco, Microsoft and VMware online communities.
