ARCServe Error E8535 (Failed to receive data from client agent)
 
Problem

Backup job fails with above error, seen on exchange document/brick level backup

Solution

1. Start > Run > Regedit {enter}.
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ComputerAssociates\BrightStor ARCserve Backup\Base\Task\Remote.
3. Change the following two DWORD entries so that they read 3600 (Hexadecimal) or 13824 Decimal.

ReceiveTimeOut

SendTimeOut

4. Reboot.
